PROP FIRM ACCESS — SOUTH AFRICA

Futures Prop Firms That Accept South Africans

The three firms you see most on YouTube — Apex, Take Profit Trader and Lucid— all block South Africa. So do MyFundedFutures, TradeDay and E8. You usually find out at KYC or at your first payout. But Topstep, Alpha Futures, Earn2Trade, Tradeify and a handful of others accept SA traders and pay out. Every row below was read on the firm's own eligibility page (linked), and every policy flip is logged with a date — including the one we got wrong.

SA is on their 'Live Trading Country Eligibility' table: you can buy, trade and receive SIM performance rewards; a LIVE allocation goes to a Risk Desk review. Treat as sim-rewards-yes, live-by-review — not a flat yes. This is the FUTURES product (separate from their CFD product).

Tradeify

SA is NOT on Tradeify's 58-country restricted list, and the page says nothing about SA being sim-only. (Our earlier 'sim-only' note had no source and was removed 2026-09-07.) Tradeify judges residency, so VPN games will not help anyone. Confirm live-account terms with support before relying on payouts.

Take Profit Trader

South Africa is on TPT's restricted list (page updated ~April 2026). Their policy: even a single instance of placing a trade OR viewing market data from a restricted country is a violation under CME rules — accounts are blocked, VPNs included. We listed TPT as 'accepted' until 2026-09-07; that was our error and it is logged in the changelog.

WHAT THE TABLE WON'T TELL YOU
  • "Restricted" can mean you can't even look. Take Profit Trader's policy counts a single instance of viewing market datafrom SA as a violation — the account is blocked, VPN or not. Apex also refuses payment methods issued in restricted countries. Don't buy an eval from a restricted firm "to see what happens".
  • FundedNext Futures is a "yes, but". SA traders can buy, trade and receive sim performance rewards; a live allocation goes through their Risk Desk review. Read it as sim-rewards-yes, live-by-review.
  • The firms that ban SA also ban SA affiliates. Apex, MyFundedFutures and TPT gate their affiliate programs to eligible countries — a dead end both ways. Nobody honest can promote them to you; be suspicious of anyone who does.
  • Getting the money home. USDT/USDC payouts where offered (Earn2Trade, FundedNext) are faster and cheaper than a SWIFT wire into ZAR; convert via a local exchange. SARS treats payouts as trading income (provisional taxpayer, 18–45%), and from 1 March 2026 CRS/CARF reporting means Wise/Payoneer/crypto flows are visible to SARS. Plan for it.
  • Policies flip overnight — in both directions. Topstep opened SA to live funding in 2026; TPT closed it the same year. Confirm your country on the firm's own restricted-countries page the day you buy. The changelog below is our record.

Affiliate disclosure: where a firm link is a referral link it is marked rel="sponsored"and shows as VIEW →; plain "site →" links earn us nothing. If you sign up through a referral link, EdgeTape may earn a commission at no extra cost to you — and you often get a discount. Eligibility status is never affected by whether a firm pays us: Take Profit Trader had an affiliate program we could have joined, and it is listed as restricted because it is.
